VM Golf Bag - Location Scouting

(3Gins Media: Location Scouting)

So for the past 6 weeks I've been keeping in touch with Vince Marvaso from West Virginia; he has a new golf bag product that he created to eliminate the hastle of the sunday golf bag. This Product is light (8oz), folds up and can fit in your main golf bag, holds your primary clubs or is Great for those who like to carry just the essentials for 4-8 holes and just walk the green.
So after a handful of pushing back his travel date for a one day shoot, we made a plan to get it done.
I even went ahead and started to round up talent, location scout and visually plan how we'll shoot this product video.
Sometimes you've got to take charge and get things done unless you want to be looking over at a handful of scripts (looks over at Short Film scripts; many half finished - sighs...I'm working on them).

Anyway, Vince is coming in on Sept. 22nd and we've got a local course lined up, talent, forms, releases, a time set; extras would be Great.
Its a planned, yet loose product video (open to changes).

Here's a link to Vince's Golf Bag + the Location Scouting Video.

DIY Sandbags

(Stephen Patek: 3Gins Media)

I can't tell you how many times I've overlooked something so simple, yet so crucial to a smooth production flow.
•When you've got time to set up, there's no excuse.
•When its Gorilla style (there's more leeway); and I hate to admit that nearly 60 percent of my work tends to feel like Gorilla style.

So, just so I'm clear. When you've got the time its good to have things fixed or get things you need.

•Don't forget to have light-bulbs from your light kits replaced; if they're sketchy, find out why.
•Check the weather
•Put notes+reminders in at least 3 places for meetings and presentations
•Location Scout/ take pictures/ notes/ lighting needs (Good God, don't forget this)
•Follow up with people (I diverge)

Today I'm posting a quick DIY tutorial about making your own sandbags because:
1. I enjoy making things (plus, your ingenuity and craftsmanship will be viewed positively in the eyes of your clients who might just ask you about that idea later)

2. I enjoy being frugal with my money and not just saying 'screw it' I'm buying the industry standard/ expectation of 'that thing' because I would rather sport a branded product than make my own.
•at least when you make your own stuff, there's a little more pride in it versus saying 'well, there goes my money'

Business Cards

(Stephen Patek: 3Gins Media)

As I had made a post to LocalVox and I don't feel enough folks; maybe enough young business owners who have a specific art or craft understand the concept of a "clean, clear and concise" business card to present their information.

I had written the Post: Getting Better Means Failing Better? Of Course it does! http://mrkt.ms/nv5e

•the viewership rating sucks and the post click rating sucks and I cover a few concepts in that Post, however, I feel the one to focus a Tips Video on should be about Business Cards. I understand if I had to fail at it about 25 times I imagine others are just pegging away at their silly failure as an "Oopsie Daisy, I never remember those things, just find me on Facebook."
(No, thats BS. Have those Damn Cards Ready!)

I've had too many great opportunities slip away because I screwed up with cards.

So the video attached covers that.

2. My Solution

3. My Failure Story
