Released: Big Mountain's Car Lot

So to keep it short; the time finally came this past monday to release and debut Big Mountain's Car Lot at the local hot spot The Paddy Wagon Irish Pub.

It got some awesome feedback and many people asking about whats next to come?
I've got a couple of Projects coming along slowly as I work around everything that pops up both planned and randomly on a day to day basis.

So please enjoy Big Mountain's Car Lot and it would be cool if you gave it a thumbs up and shared it too. The thumbs indicates that you enjoyed it and the shares help spread the entertainment to all your family, buddies and co-workers.

Proofed Cuisine (Food, Spirits & Flops)

I've got an online cooking show that revolves around the use of beer, liquor, and spirits called: Proofed Cuisine and I recently got back to shooting it after a 4 month hiatus; its apparently difficult to acquire someone to run a camera when you live right next to a college where Media is one of the top 5 majors...go figure.
I was aiming to shoot a Valentine's Day Special...which in essence "Did in fact" take place, then I saw the issues with all the post production and quality of the over all product and decided it was going to be scrapped; had I pushed it through into production it would have been a step back even in comparison to my Draft Episode.
I've produced and edited the show myself with camera work and assistance from a couple of people; one consistent. I'm hoping to gain experience from trial and error outside of professional multi-media houses/ studios. Sometimes there are small successes, though there are flops on occasion. We won't go into flops, but they do happen and after a set is completed to find that everything after a certain point can not be used, its kind of a bummer. You've just got to dust yourself off and move on.
Below I've provided a link to the first impromptu shoot and then the most recent shoot of Proofed Cuisine.

Proofed Cuisine (Episode 1)

There would be a video image for Proofed Cuisine 4 if Blogger were willing to cooperate and add one.
Anyway, this is one of my many independent projects that I've been pushing along and gaining experience from.
As always. Thanks for checking out my Blog, and have a Great Day!

Big Mountain's Car Lot (Post 4)

Hey, so its been 2 weeks and I've technically finished editing Big Mountain's Car Lot. I've got a full 3.5minute version as well as a 1min 40 second version of it. I'm thinking about turning it into something more once I release the first version after its public debut; I'm planning on showing it at the local hot spot The Paddy Wagon Irish Pub in the next week or two. I enjoy working with them when I have the time and do some of their video works; they have a couple events coming up soon so keep your eyes pealed on The Paddy Wagon.
As for giving credit where its due; I'm waiting for A&A to give me some feedback on what they think of BMCL before I make it public and give them location credits to make sure they don't mind being associated with the project.
I enjoyed producing it myself and now that its about done; I'll run a couple streams of promotion and then make it public so everyone can watch and share it. I enjoy the quality I get on Vimeo better than Youtube, but there are all these restrictions on uploading that make it difficult to just post anything on there without paying for priority.
Below I've posted the last entry before I actually release "Big Mountain's Car Lot" in the next week or so, and then begin the next step in the process of the larger project. We were limited on Behind the Scenes stuff because our Grip was on call for work and had to leave so without giving anything away we had to audit behind the scenes stuff.

Big Mountain's Car Lot 3 (Scouting)

Hey Everyone, I got to scout out 2 Great Locations today and they were way more than I could have imagined. I only collected a handful of HighLights from the 4 hours of roaming around the Salvage Yards. The Opportunity, the opportunity was everywhere....literally, sporadic ideas left and right it was pretty astonishing. It feels good to be back to work on something, putting my abilities to work and cohesion with other people who also want to accomplish the same goals because they believe in the idea and enjoy the final product as much as myself. The Process is what makes it fun though; yes, the stress, the late nights, changing plans, weather, planning, opportunity, planning (Pre-Production at its finest) and then finally Production (the day of reckoning)!!!
I'm Excited to begin figuring out what shots I want to shoot and at which location; we figured that we may as well utilize both locations, hopefully that will be a possibility. It'll take some concise planning, considering their distance apart and every other condition imaginable. I'm sure we can handle it though.

Big Mountain's Car Lot (post 2)

Hey, so its been a sort of an on and off task calling around within a 30 mile radius to all the local Auto-Junk Yard & Salvage Lots looking for:
1. Someone to pick up the damn phone
2. Listen to my nearly scripted pitch and
3. Give me a Yay, Nay or call me back.
This process alone has taken a few days to secure 2.5 Locations and I use .5 in lieu of a solid 3 because the last place I contacted doesn't seem to care if I'm there or not....currently. So long as I don't get in the way of their paying clients. I guess I'll see tomorrow when I actually talk to them in person about what I seek to achieve. And this very factor is why I sought to have options; not just hope and pray for one place to follow up with me. I've got to be realistic when it comes to location scouting. Some folks are cool with it, some don't care so long as you don't make them look bad and some sure as hell don't want a camera pointed at their business let alone walking around with one.

Big Mountain's Car Lot

Hello, my name is Stephen Patek and having recently graduated from EKU (Richmond, KY) with a Bachelor in Broadcast & Electronic Media; there was originally that sort of uncertain feeling about finally merging from full time student as a position in the academic sense to full time (insert position) in my field.
I have creative angst and if I'm not creating something (a story, a picture, a video of any sort, etc.) I'm bored out of my skull.
Thus I decided to push forward with a skit idea I developed back in October; of course its part of a larger concept, but starting somewhere is better than bouncing around and not settling on an idea to pursue.
I started taking the steps necessary for this small skit; the production book (99.9% of all productions - TV, Movies, Video Games, you name it- have a production book) is part way done and if I can get at least 2 locations secured to scout out, I'll be happy to begin production itself in a couple weeks.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog. Have a Great Day!
