The Blue Mojo Brotherhood has been Rocking Richmond, Kentucky with a variety of Blues, Vibe, Rock, Alternative and Mojo Hits for a few years now.
Recently we covered them with Special Guest lyricist Rachel Crowe who generally plays in the Somerset, Kentucky area. The Brotherhood got her to come play a gig with them and this was one of the songs we all agreed was phenomenal and therefore we wanted to Highlight it!
Feel the Passion being exhumed by Rachel and The Blue Mojo Brotherhood with their version of "Feels Like Rain".
"Talk about running down a lead out of the blue."
I was connected with Amy from Northland Outpost about 2 months ago; there was a thread on facebook looking for a videographer to assist in creating a product video for an Amazon based selling company; I followed up with Amy within about 3 hours of the original post without expectation (many times people won't respond or messages come in over facebooks many facets and go unnoticed), Amy responded to me shortly after and we carried conversation over email and then via phone and I could tell she was a genuine person who wanted to grow her business and has that transformed mindset for success.
You can tell when you're working with someone whose seen around the corner and adjusts themselves to meet the next challenge with a strategy. Entrepreneurial people are fascinating to talk to and work with.
We set a schedule for a full day to shoot, prepped, planned and everything went really smooth. I got to meet her family, experience a day in their lives with them and film the experience in addition to a little directing and guerilla tactics that when you're used to running and gunning in your work you just go with the flow and make things work out.
We coordinated a family business video, a product review video and discussion video.
The additional talent took about a month to round them up how I needed them and then a few evenings of editing and wearing their product while working (in fact, I wear them nearly everytime I sit down to my pc now; I don't necessarily have to be editing anything or even be working into the night, I've had such an issue with working until I fall asleep at the pc or until my eyes are killing me from staring at my screens that I wear them even in the daytime).
I used to convince myself that sore eyes were a sign of hard work and that's what I wanted people to know me for so it was a badge of fortitude (wrong; it was screwing up my ability to sleep well).
So I'm wearing these bluelight blocking glasses now and I feel solid, and I would recommend you try them out if you're a social media acolyte or read stuff on your pc, phone, tablet. Yes, they have blue light blocking modes installed, but they're shit honestly; I've tried them and dare I say, I would know because I guarantee I spend 10X more time staring into Screens than you do (it's literally how I make a living), this isn't just my sales pitch. I'm being honest, try them out and feel the difference.
A selfie I took while wearing the glasses; I don't even need to wear glasses (20/20).
But my eyes are crucial for me to work, so I made the investment. Like if you need to buy gloves or Dr.Scholls inserts for your shoes or fungicide because you walked into a nasty house and picked up something (long story...shit happens...plan pre-emptively).

In this episode, I discuss what it means to sell with conviction and based on facts; not BSing the prospect and trying to push lies for dollars.
It was 4 degrees out with the windshield at Eastern Kentucky University; the morning after a New Years Party. My head was pounding and I had the loveliest touch of cotton mouth. But after meeting my new buddy Jon and finding that we had drive + market finance interests in common I decided to see if I could get him to help me record this episode at Roy Kidd Stadium.
Could we have prepped for this better? Absolutely. It was Cold.
But we bore through it to get this short talk produced and got the hell out.
I actually went back the following day to get the drone shots because it wasn't as cold...
Dedication is a powerful tool; it doesn't always have to be Hustle, Grind and Drive.
Though they are very important and fun to use Buzz Words.
